Funding Requirements
Applications are open to those local families struggling with cancer and life threatening illnesses who reside in Northwestern Ontario.
The trust’s objectives are generally charitable, supporting families with travel expenses, medical care, food, accommodations and any other extraordinary costs a family may incur not covered by the government.

Funding Criteria
The trusts objectives are of a general charitable nature supporting local families struggling with cancer and life threatening illnesses for the benefit of the citizens of Northwestern Ontario.
Some examples may include; travel for medical care, food and accommodations not covered by the government or any grant received or any extraordinary costs a family may incur
- Grants to be awarded to recipients or beneficiaries who reside within the Northwestern Ontario.
- Evidence of tangible “public benefit” to be demonstrated in the Application
- Grant Applications will be presented to Raising the Barr Committee for Approval.
- Funding letter to be forwarded to successful applicants.
- Applicants to sign offer of funding agreement.
- A narrative report to be submitted once the grant provided has been defrayed, confirming the use of funds and public benefit.
- Grants awarded to be defrayed in the financial year or within 6 months of approval of funding, unless agreed otherwise.
- Documentary evidence of money spent must be provided.
- Dollar amount awarded to each family will be on a case to case situation.
- Parents may apply on behalf of recipient.
- Recipient must be a young adult or child battling a life threatening illness.
